"Behind Us"

This original oil painting depicts a moody night sky above an imagined watery landscape. A sprinkling of stars and the moon peek out from behind a billowing embankment of cloud. There is so much more in the night sky than our eyes can see; experiments with astrophotography have given the artist a broad new scope of inspiration for this series of moonscape paintings. 

Measurements

Painted by New Zealand Artist Mel McKenzie (The Penny Drops) in 2022, the artwork is on a 8 by 10 inch canvas, sealed with a satin varnish and framed in a shallow black frame.
