"Above Us"

This original oil painting depicts a dynamic, colourful night sky above an imagined watery landscape. A smattering of stars, the full moon, a revelry of clouds (or is it a hint of an aurora?) feature in this skyscape. There is so much more in the night sky than our eyes can see; experiments with astrophotography have given the artist a broad new scope of inspiration for this series of moonscape paintings. 

Measurements

Painted by New Zealand Artist Mel McKenzie (The Penny Drops) in 2022, the artwork is on a 8 by 10 inch canvas, sealed with a satin varnish and framed in a shallow black frame.
