With the sun low in the sky, the trees filter the early morning light. The light is fractured into colour and the form of the trees can be gently seen. Even in this abstracted form, these trees represent shelter and strength. The original photo reference for the painting came from a stand of old, gnarled Macrocarpa trees on a local farm.

This painting belongs to a series of Bokeh Paintings. The 'blurry lights' evoke a sense of wistful nostalgia. The soft focus gives the painting an air of abstraction and conveys a message of the ways light finds you through the darkness and the beauty of taking the focus off the 'sharp edges' and 'gritty details'.

Capturing all the details of the original painting on canvas - including the subtle texture of the canvas.

Stunning prints in 2 sizes are now available. These are mostly printed to order. Please allow up to a week for your order to be fulfilled - a small number of prints are held in stock so it could be sooner.

These archival certified giclee prints are printed on a gently textured, white matte fine art paper. The 100% cotton rag paper weight is a lush 300gsm. A low gloss paper.

Prints up to A4 in size will be shipped flat - backed with cadd and encased in a protective sleeve, while A3 prints will be rolled and shipped in a cardboard box.
