This Glimmer offers the opposite invitation.

With soft peach-tones and scattered points of light, it celebrates the beauty that reveals itself when we stop scrutinising every detail. The moments that can't quite be explained. The quiet certainty that there is goodness present, even when the picture isn't perfectly clear.

A reminder that beauty can be found in small doses, whatever else is going on around us.

The Glimmers Collection

Glimmers are considered tiny moments of joy in your day. This collection of small oil studies resists overthinking in capturing moments of light, place, and atmosphere. I aimed to paint them quickly and intuitively, with each work allowing softness and joy to lead the way. 

While these pieces are slightly looser than my canvas paintings, they are finished pieces in their own right, and some may inform future, larger works. Together, they offer an intimate pocket of joy.

Bokeh does 2 things:

1. It magnifies - the soft focus allows light & beauty to grow, and
2. It simplifies - the art takes the focus off 'sharp edges' and 'nitty gritty details'.
