Across the water, Old Cromwell glows softly in early evening. This array of boutique galleries and shops, set in a heritage precinct, holds the kind of quiet that comes after the day's visitors have gone. 

There's something tender in the light and distance, making it feel both intimate and remote. This is a place suspended between its past and present, between the water that defines it and the new energy 'flowing' through its old stone buildings.

The Glimmers Collection

Glimmers are considered tiny moments of joy in your day. This collection of small oil studies resists overthinking in capturing moments of light, place, and atmosphere. I aimed to paint them quickly and intuitively, with each work allowing softness and joy to lead the way. 

While these pieces are slightly looser than my canvas paintings, they are finished pieces in their own right, and some may inform future, larger works. Together, they offer an intimate pocket of joy.

Bokeh does 2 things:

1. It magnifies - the soft focus allows light & beauty to grow, and
2. It simplifies - the art takes the focus off 'sharp edges' and 'nitty gritty details'.
