'Below Deck'

Bring the colours and quiet beauty of the harbour into your home.

As daylight fades and lights begin to glow, their colours shimmering across the water, while the surrounding township settles into the deepening blue of evening.

In this original oil painting, I’ve captured that in-between moment through my distinctive blurry, bokeh-inspired style. Instead of painting every boat, building and reflection in sharp detail, I’ve softened the scene into layers of blue, punctuated by little glimmers of gold, white and warm light.

The result is a coastal landscape that feels less like a photograph of a place and more like the experience of being there: the water, the fading light, the gentle rhythm of a harbour winding down for the evening.

With its rich blues and subtle coastal palette, this original harbour painting makes a beautiful focal point in a living room, bedroom or quiet corner where you'd like to create a sense of calm. It sits comfortably in a classically elegant or contemporary coastal interior, pairing naturally with warm neutrals, natural textures and touches of blue.

An elegant reminder that you don't have to be beside the water to feel its pull.

For anyone who loves the coast, feels at home beside the water, or wants their home to be a softer place to land.

About Bokeh

My paintings are often considered 'unfocused', but I prefer to say they're 'differently focused'. By softening the details, I invite you to focus on the atmosphere, colour and light that can so easily be overlooked when we’re busy looking for everything at once.
